Like every community in New Jersey, Englewood Cliffs must provide their fair share of affordable housing within Englewood Cliffs. The Borough has assembled a superb team of professionals to assist the Borough in making the difficult decisions regarding where and how to provide these housing units within our community. This is a very complicated process that will include the eventual filing of a fair share housing plan with the Court.
Attorneys for the Borough appeared before Judge Toskos on February 9, 2018 for oral arguments regarding whether the Borough’s immunity from builder’s remedy suits should be extended. After persuasive arguments by our legal team, Judge Toskos decided in the Borough’s favor and extended our immunity from builder’s remedy suits through April 30, 2018. Englewood Cliffs’ elected officials will continue to work diligently with our Professionals to achieve the best possible results for the residents of Englewood Cliffs.
